Sometimes the paid jobs, just don't speak to your creative side. That is why myself and photographer Paul Dimalanta, decided that every few months we would create a shoot that allowed us to execute some of our more unusual ideas. Luckily, we are surrounded by some wonderfully talented people who would make up the rest of the team - Joseph Williams and Ervina Topalli who have styled the hell out of every shoot we have done so far.
The first shoot we did, was inspired by a piece in 944 magazine by Solve Sundsbo.
The use of an aerial hoop was the main attraction, but where would I find one of those and a space in which to hang it safely!?
Weirdly, Paul had just worked with aerial artist Lesley Vaughn, and she happily allowed us into her rehearsal space where we shot for about five hours one sunday evening....it was meant to be!
To add some depth, I made a somewhat deco, abstract skyline
For some added depth we hung white lanterns and lightbulbs.
. . .and then came the stunning Lesley Vaughn!

Like all of these very much. The hoop-swing reminds me slightly of Rihanna for Gucci.
