Cassidy and new fangled machinery

Cassidy is building himself a new fangled piece of musical equipment. I have asked what it is called many times now, but it just doesn't want to stay with me - something to do with compression.

He had a thin piece of steel cut to accommodate all the knobs and meters and good stuff, and luckily my job consisted of nothing more complicated than drawing on it - phew
